About your teacher
Albina, founder of Albina Love Math

Hi, I'm Albina — founder of Albina Love Math. I grew up learning math the Soviet way: rigorous, step-by-step, no shortcuts — and it's the foundation everything I teach is built on.

I hold a degree in Mathematics and Mechanics from a classical university, and honestly, I've wanted to be a teacher since I was a kid — "playing school" was my favorite game long before it was my job.

Today I bring that same rigor and warmth to every student I work with — live, on video, with real conversation and real problem-solving, not just an app telling them if they're right or wrong.

I've taught at the Russian School of Mathematics, presented at the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics (FCTM) conference, and I'm an approved Step Up For Students provider.

The 4-week intensive

What we cover in 4 weeks

W1
Multi-step equations
Parentheses, distributing negatives, and the 10-second self-check that catches errors.
W2
Variables on both sides
Fractions in equations, “no solution” and “infinitely many solutions.”
W3
Inequalities
When (and why) the sign flips, and graphing solutions on a number line.
W4
Compound inequalities & word problems
Putting it all together, then the final placement test.
How it works

Two live sessions a week, for 4 weeks.

Two time options: Daytime 12 pm ET (great for homeschoolers) or Evening 6 pm ET (after school). Pick yours when you pre-register. Small groups on Zoom, max 10 students each. Every session is recorded, so a missed day is never a lost day. Thanksgiving week: students send questions by Wednesday and get a recorded video walkthrough on Thursday.

M

Monday — live lesson

60 minutes. New topic, worked step by step, with practice in class.

Q

Thursday — live Q&A

45 minutes. Students bring questions from this course or from their own curriculum.

✎

Homework with feedback

Worked by hand, full work shown. I point to the exact step where the mistake happened.

%

Placement test, start & end

Parents get a short progress report showing what improved.

Our approach

Not app taps. Real handwriting, real thinking, real feedback.

Tapping the right answer in an app doesn't teach math — it teaches guessing. Every student in our course works problems out by hand, step by step, because that's how the logic actually sticks in the brain.

1

Live lesson

The teacher walks through the concept in real time, with questions welcome.

2

Worked by hand

Every homework problem requires full work shown — not just a final answer.

3

Brought to Q&A day

Stuck problems come to the weekly Q&A — reviewed live, not just marked wrong.

4

Fixes the real gap

Because we walk through the actual work, feedback targets the real mistake, not just the answer.
